This year's NetSetGO program will commence a 10 week program beginning on Tuesday 23rd March
NetSetGO is Australia’s official starter program for girls and boys aged 5 to 10. It’s a chance to learn the netball basics, get outside and make some friends. For a lot of kids, this is the first time they’ll pick up a netball or wear a bib. It’s a learning experience and a lot of fun.
NetSetGO is divided up into three tiers: Net, Set and GO. Where you start depends on your age and netball experience.
To register - Download the Netball Connect App through android or Apple store or Google play
NET is for 5 to 6 year-olds. It’s all about picking up basic movement skills. Get ready to run a lot, catch a lot, and play a lot of ball games. The program will be held on Court 4 every Tuesday at 4 pm and goes for 1 hour. You can register now to start straight away.
SET is for 7 - 8 year olds who will participate in games as part of a team and compete against other teams in our Tuesday fixtures. Draws are available on the website under the Play tab. Start times are usually from 4 - 5 pm.
Teams can be formed with the friends you meet in the Net program, this is not organised by the Net Coach. Teams are also formed by some local schools or groups of friends, but you must be a part of a team before you register. You may want to ask around at your school or advertise on one of the community facebook pages. If you are having trouble finding a team, you can email email@example.com to register your interest, they may be able to connect you with a team needing players.
GO is for 9 - 10 year olds - who will participate in modified games in our Tuesday fixtures. Start times are usually from 5 - 6 pm. Draws are available on the website under the Play tab.
Teams from the Set program will advance to GO or there are teams that formed by schools or groups of friends but you must be a part of a team before you can register. You may want to ask around at your school or advertise on one of the community facebook pages. If you are having trouble finding a team, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest, they may be able to connect you with a team needing players.
As your child moves through the tiers, they’ll pick up more advanced netball skills. One week it might be passing drills and ball games, next it could be shooting and practice matches. Net sessions are led by a friendly netball coach, using equipment built specially for kids. Umpires also assist players on court, teaching as they go.
